F is for Facebook and February…

I decided this morning, probably prior to my coffee, that I will give something up each month left in this year known as O Eleven. The item, person, activity, word, habit that I give up will begin with the first letter of that current month. Soooo, for February (F), I am giving up Facebook.

Shock and awe, y’all. Shock and awe.

I will need your prayers as I have the habit of scrolling through Facebook on my iPhone without even knowing it. I haven’t done this in my sleep, yet, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen – especially during periods of withdrawal. Anywho – happy birthday to all of the February babies that I wouldn’t even know they had a birthday if it wasn’t for Facebook. If you get engaged, become pregnant, take a picture or eat something – you’ll have to text, call, email, or tweet me. (I am still alive, I still love hearing about your child’s latest gifting, the weather, what Bible verse is on your mind…and what song you have stuck in your head.)

Starting the countdown as soon as I disable the notifications ability on my Facebook account.

Sayonara Facebook peeps! See you on the flipside!

Oh, one last thing. My sister posted this on my Facebook wall last night, so I thought I should share since I can technically still get to it. Okay, that’s it.

Today You are You
That is truer than true
There is no one alive
That is Youer than You.

I commend you for your dedication. What a great idea! Good luck with staying off facebook. Miss seeing your pretty face!

Yay! Dr. Suess loves the being “youier” too!

Also, last night I woke up to a bright light and realized that Meeker was scrolling through facebook on his phone at 3am. That’s pretty close to “in your sleep” – you’re already better off than he is. 🙂

Did you give up “fresh posts” for February too? (Get it, fresh cause it starts with an “F”?) When I only read 2 blogs (one being yours) I get sad that there are rarely new posts… I mean you did see a guy walking a turtle yesterday. That’s entertaining enough.

Good thing I decided to email you instead of “facebooking” you today! Is this just for February or Forever? 😉
